So I have been taking up this new hobby (?!) called jogging.. and of course, jogging is usually never complete without the mandatory ipod, right? I mean, ask the joggers and runners, or just observe.. probably more than 90% have them earplugs (or headsets of all sizes and shapes) on..
So then the question is, what are you listening to when you jog? I'm just curious.. I mean, just looking at people do their thing (jogging or running I mean) makes me wonder what it is they are listening to? Are they synching their moves with some techno music or rock perhaps or are they listening to classical music while sweating it out (think Face Off, that shooting spree scene with the kid wearing a headset blaring Somewhere Over the Rainbow).
Me? I have my favorite Queen songs (Don't Stop Me Now is really quite fitting for my goal right now, I think.. hehehe.. as well as Under Pressure! hahaha!) and I threw in a couple of Third Eye Blind oldies and a couple of new songs from MCR and some house stuff..
How about you? What's on yours? :)

Roses & Tingles
I'm a sucker for flowers. Yep, I am guilty of such girly weaknesses. And fortunately for me, hubby has got this fact ingrained in his mind.
He found out about this accidentally, actually. When he found out what I did with the flowers he gave the first time (I displayed it our sala then hehe), flowers became his best "weapon".
And so 5 years into our marriage, I would still get the occasional romantic surprise bouquets from time to time. Yeah, I am one of the lucky ones. Hehe. Just last Wednesday, after 3 days away from home, he came home with 30 red roses, which according to him (which was according also to the florist lol), it was the equivalent of I love you times 10 + I miss you. Hehe. And though I try to mask it sometimes, I still get the tingly, funny feeling that resemble the ones I used to get from before.
Lucky for me I also have a secretly romantic guy for a husband. Hehehe.

Kids and the Darnedest Things They Say and Do
I have been sharing some of my "encounters" with my sons on facebook, and I find them really amusing and insightful (and did I say amusing? hehehe) Today was just kinda weird because our "encounter" aligned with my new class load (for the summer.. yes, I, along with around at least 100 students won't be frolicking anywhere but in the campus for this summer =p), which is Principles of Marketing.. We were in the grocery and he displayed his knack for absorbing information around him, pointing out some products and their advertised benefits (like him saying "Mama, you need Champion" as we were passing the detergents aisle and "You get that Mama so that you'll have string hair" as we passed by a picture of KC, advertising her shampoo) So I was laughing while doing the groceries, amazed at his sponge of a mind.
And this evening, before falling asleep, Lucius was watching Tangled (again, for the nth time.. its his current favorite).. he says he's the Flyn Rider character and I'm Rapunzel, and so when the scene showed Rapunzel hitting Rider from behind with a frying pan, he turns to me and says "Ouch! Why did you hit my head?!" and he got me laughing again.. Oh, and he sings along, too.. he even makes me sing along.. well it does come a bit easy for me since the songs get stuck in my head due to the constant playing of the movie
Last Sunday was even funnier.. I brought him along with me while I played badminton with my sister and some friends.. he said he wanted to play, and so he began stretching (to my sister's amusement) because he saw me doing the same before picking up my racket..
Aaaaahhhh.. kids.. they can be difficult sometimes but the darnedest things they say and do are definitely priceless =)

My Month-Old Secret
I think I haven't told any of my friends of my month old secret.. lol I have joined a bandwagon around 4 weeks ago, and it actually gave me something to look forward to everyday..
I have a friend who goes by the name Edrick who PMed me and asked if I would be interested in joining a Biggest Loser sort of contest. My initial reaction was "So I'm that big, huh?".. of course, jokingly said (pero sakit sab baya gamay hahahahahah the truth hurts!) I knew I would have to have commitment to push through.. and without making such a big deal out of it, I signed up. This challenge will go on for 8 weeks, there will be weekly weigh-ins, and there will be weekly sessions that will help inform us on how to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.
First weigh in, I was 187lbs, my body age is 54 years old, and I discovered that I am actually obese. Ugh. So my motivation is not only for my health, but for my Bora escapade with my bitches (pardon my French) in 5 months. My ideal weight? 130lbs! Yep, I am 50lbs overweight, sad to say. I guess the pregnancy fat stayed on a year after I gave birth to Kalen. LOL Though this doesn't take into consideration the bone structure and all, still, the fact remains that I have too much.. excess weight, that is.
So, as alarmed as I was, I have painstakingly cut back in my intake, especially rice and other carbs, and became more conscious of my intake. I also learned a lot about nutrition during the weekly sessions (I missed 2 already, and we have a max of 3 absences lang). I have also taken up jogging.. I've been jogging 6 days a week for 2-3 weeks I think, and I plan to increase my "physical activities" more.
So in the first week, I lost 4lbs.. I guess that was because of a drastic change in my diet. But I plateaud on the next week because I only lost .2lbs.. I wasn't able to weigh in on the 3rd week because I spent time in the boondocks (hehehe.. and I jogged there, too, with the higher altitude and cooler climate and all) And on the 4th week, I shed some again.
I initially thought 4lbs per week was doable, but i was wrong. Boy was I wrong! I've realized that it will really involve a change of lifestyle altogether. And I'm determined to reach my ideal weight. For health purposes (both body and ego) lol
Last weigh in (Sunday) I'm down to 179lbs. Yey. 39 to go! lol Jog jog jog and cut back some more. Wish me luck. Hehe.

Crossed
Okay, so here I am again, on my nth attempt to start (and keep!) a blog or a not-so-secret diary of some sort =p so with fingers, toes, and eyes crossed, here i go.. but first, a "pact"..
I (guess) I shall be writing mostly about my thoughts on anything.. they may mostly comprise of work, being a mom, relationships, and current events.. I shall try to make this as no holds-barred as legally possible (hehe) and shall try to enjoy it as much as I can... I shall not fret if I cannot write on a daily basis though I most certainly will try to do so.. and in the end, I shall impart interesting, if not useful, knowledge to my readers (even if it's only me.. lol)
There. That should do it. Hehe.
